How it works

Every Traditional character is looked up by how Japanese writes it. Where Japanese uses the same form as Simplified (国, 学, 会), the Simplified form is used. Where Japanese keeps the Traditional form (並, 個), it stays. Where Japanese has a third form (発, 図, 対), the mode decides.

Simplified works too: it is converted to Traditional first with OpenCC (phrase-aware, so 干／幹／乾 and 后／後 are resolved by context), then run through the mode. The dictionary (about 450 KB) is only loaded when Simplified text comes in.
